Gradebook Builder

Within the PolyLearn (Moodle 2.3) Gradebook Builder, faculty can create their Gradebook from one page.
The Gradebook must be empty to use the Gradebook Builder tool. The Gradebook can be edited with the Gradebook tools after the Builder is used, but the Builder can only be used once.

Building Your Gradebook


 

To use the Gradebook Builder:

  1. Click on the Grades link in the Administration block.

  2. Click on the Gradebook Builder link (in the View tab) at the top of the Gradebook.

  3. On the left of the page, type in all your Category names. After each Category, click on the Add button (right). The Category will display on the left.

  4. After adding Categories, type in a number of Manual Grade Items and choose the Category it will be placed in and click on the Add button.
    For Example: 2 Homework items were added to the Homework Category, 2 Quizzes to the Quizzes Category and 5 Participation items to the Participation Category....

  5. After all the items are added, type in the Category Weights.

  6. Change the Point value for each item and click on the Save to Gradebook.

  7. The Builder will then open the Categories and Items tab with the finished Gradebook. The individual weights can be left alone. In this Gradebook each item is weighted equally. Changing that number will give more importance to the item and will change the whole weighting calculations.

The Gradebook can be edited with the Gradebook tools after the Builder is used, but the Builder can only be used once.
