Using My Profile

1. In theSettings block, click My profile settings, and then click Edit profile.
   
   
2. Customize the PolyLearn site as desired with the following options:
   • Email display determines who sees your email address, if at all.
   • Email format determines if the HTML editor is used when sending emails directly from PolyLearn
   • Email digest type chooses how much information about a new forum post is delivered in an email.
   • Forum auto-subscribe subscribes the author of a post to the forum, which notifies the author via email.
   • Forum tracking keeps track of posts and allows the user to see which forum posts they have not yet read.
   • When editing text determines if HTML is used when writing text.
   • AJAX and Javascript enables advanced AJAX and Javascript features.
   • Screen reader allows a user with disabilities to use their screen readers in PolyLearn.
   • Preferred language sets the language for the PolyLearn site.
   • Description is a description about the instructor that can be viewed in the profile by all.
   • New picture allows uploading of a personal image.
   • Picture description outlines what the picture represents.
   • List of interests displays personal qualities/interests.
   Note: Each of these interests creates a "tag", and clicking on these when viewing the profile directs the user to a page that lists everyone in the course that have the same tagged interest.
   
   • Web page is for entering a personal webpage URL.
   • Skype ID, AIM ID, Yahoo ID, MSN ID are for instant messaging IDs in order to allow you to list your screen names for various IM clients.
   • Institution & Department identify your school and college department (respectively).
   • Phone, Mobile phone, Address provides various contact information to allow others in the class to contact you.
3. Click on the Update profile button to save your profile.
   

Viewing profile

1. In the Navigation block, click My profile.
2. Click View profile.
3. Personal details are shown, as well as all the courses that you are teaching, and dates and times of your first and last access to PolyLearn.
