Adding/editing a scheduler

Instructors can create a scheduler to easily book student meetings or group meetings through Polylearn.

  1. Select Turn editing on.
  2. Click on the Add an activity or resource link.

  3. Choose the Scheduler tool.
  4. Click on the expand all link at the top right corner, to view all setting boxes.
  5. Under the General section, type the Scheduler Name (required) of the tool into the text box.
  6. Choose the Options Settings for the tool.

  7. Choose the Grade Settings for the tool.

  8. Choose the Booking Form Settings for the tool.

  9. Specify the other Common Module Settings if applicable.
  10. Click on the Save and display button to add appointment slots.

Creating Appointment Slots


Adding Repeating Slots

  1. Click the Add slots link.

  2. Select Add repeated slots desired Field Type

  3. The first four options are about the timing of your appointments.

    Note: The day MUST be selected even if you only set up appointments for one day.

  4. The next five options are about the meeting itself and allow you to decide on how long you want your appointments.

  5. The last four options allow you to specify finer options such as the location of the meeting, who will preside over it (instructors or graders are the options), and notification options for the students.

  6. Click on the Save changes button.

Adding a Single Slot

  1. Click the Add slots link.

  2. Select Add repeated slots desired Field Type

  3. The first two options are to set the time, date, and length of the appointment.

  4. The next six options allow you to specify you if you want to override other apointments, how many students per meeting, the location and overseerer, as well as notification settings.

  5. The next tab allows you to add a student (or multiple student) to this appointment and input a note for that student.

  6. Click on the Save changes button.

Adding Students to Appointment Slots


Notifying Students

Students can add themselves to their own but you can send two kinds of notifications.

  1. Sending an invitation invites all your students to book an appointment time. Use this after you have created all your slots.

  2. Sending an reminder reminds all your students that haven't booked an apointment to book an appointment.
