Online Support Options

You may find the online tutorials and video helpful for learning how to use Grades, Gradebook Examples, and Gradebook Quickguide. Also, see the tutorial on weighting.

PolyLearn's (Moodle) Gradebook provides a central location where students’ grades can be stored and displayed via a computer browser such as Firefox, Safari or Chrome. Instructors can keep track of their students’ progress within the Gradebook and choose which set of grades students are allowed to view. If you choose to use the Gradebook, students can only see their own personal grades in the Gradebook and keep track of their progress in the course. This workshop will cover the basics of the PolyLearn Gradebook such as setting up preferences, adding and assigning grade categories, manually adding and editing grades, downloading assignment submissions from the Gradebook, exporting/importing grades, and weighting your Gradebook.

Note: This is a hands-on workshop located in the Library's computer lab 35-217d PC lab.

  • Please bring your own laptop if you prefer a Mac or just want to work from your own computer. You will need to make sure your laptop has the ability to login to the Portal and PolyLearn as well as use the campus wifi before the class begins. Workshop: Improving Student Success - 1 hour

Within PolyLearn there are multiple tools that can provide an instructor information about students who are performing poorly in the course and may be at risk of failing or dropping the course. In this session, we will work on your course settings to allow you to see tasks completed via the Completion Tracking or Progress Bar tools. We will also look at the course reporting tools and how an instructor can review these reports and communicate with their students. Finally, we will talk about the Gradebook and how important it is to have a current Gradebook for revealing at risk students.

Note: This is an online session. We will be meeting in ZOOM. See link below within location.
