TurnItIn Tool

TurnItIn can help to improve student writing one draft at a time. Instructors can save time with easy-to-use feedback and grading features. Use it to cultivate literacy skills with tools that support best practice, standards-aligned writing instruction and set students up for success. It can be use it to foster critical thinking skills and encourage creative, confident writers.

Students MUST enroll in TurnItIn before submitting a TurnItIn Assignment via PolyLearn.
If you have received a welcome email from Turnitin, this confirms that your instructor has added you to their class, allowing you to begin submitting papers to your assignments. If you believe that an instructor has added you as a student, but you have not received a welcome email from Turnitin, please check your spam or junk folder. Alternatively, contact your instructor to check that your email address has been typed correctly.
Each Turnitin account must be assigned a unique email address in the Turnitin system. Users who have previously created a Turnitin account must log in with the email address and password originally provided.

Submit a TurnItIn Assignment

TurnItIn will allow you to submit a rough draft paper to check for grammar, spelling and plagiarism.
You may also want to use other tools to help improve your paper, like Grammarly.

  1. Click on the Assignment name.
  2. Click on the Submit Paper link.
  3. Fill in the name and upload your file.
  4. The receipt will appear.
  5. To continue, click on the Close button at the top right.

Submitting a Rough Draft

Your instructor can set the option for file submission to "No Repository" which will allow you to submit a Rough Draft for personal feedback before you submit the final version.
You may also want to use other tools to help improve your paper, like Grammarly.

  1. Click on the Assignment name.
  2. Click on the Submit Paper link.
  3. Fill in the name and upload your file.
  4. The receipt will appear.
  5. To continue, click on the Close button at the top right.
